What do you do if you own a 47 foot Tolleycraft Motor Cruiser in Canada and you want to sharpen your crusing skills in March? Did I mention the Tolleycraft is in a climatized storage building in Quebec?
Join us aboard Sandy Hook on Florida’s Treasure Coast, of course!
Jacques and Lise tell us about their cruising experiences on the St. Lawrence Seaway. Their boat is twin gasoline engine powered with BOTH a bow and stern thruster. They join us to become more comfortable Building Cruising Confidence As A Couple, learning to work together as a team.
While they wait for their home port of Quebec to warm up they brush up their boating skills with us in sunny Florida. Mastering basic maneuvering is important in the event that the thrusters take a powder. Other refreshing skill sets we cover include charting and navigating.
Trip planning involves not just our daily cruise while they are aboard but also includes the “Florida Loop.” This course takes us across the Okeechobee WaterWay to the Gulf Coast, down to Key West and back through Miami to the Treasure Coast. Well, we take a virtual cruise using paper charts to plan this future adventure.
Our back deck usually serves as classroom, breakfast nook and dinner dining accomodations…on this trip we add Casino to the list with a new FARKLE Champion….
