New Adventures on Kadey Krogen 48 Whaleback
We appreciate our students sharing their testimonials after training with Captain Chris!
Reporting In
Chris and Alyse,
Hope this email finds you both in good health and spirits….
We took our first trip without a Captain to Boca Grande. We had planned to spend Sunday at Boca Grande and then one night at Cayo Costa returning Tuesday. The winds picked up to 17 mph Sunday night and remained high most of the day. We (the crew) elected to remain in Boca Grande one more night and return to Fort Myers on Tuesday. The winds were stiff coming back into Fort Myers and you would have been proud of me because I was aggressive in docking the boat. My biggest fear was that once I got broad side to the wind, the bow thruster would not capable of stopping the bow from swinging around. The marina had also double parked pontoon boats in the downwind slip. So I did take your advice to heart.
Respectfully,
(the crew)
P.S. The seas went to 1-3 feet the second half going up to Boca Grande…
Good Decisions and thanks so much for letting us know you had a successful first adventure!
Ask Captain Chris
We love to hear from you and appreciate the testimonials after training with Captain Chris. Owners of a new-to-them Kadey Krogen 48 Whaleback are proudly reporting in to recap their first adventure without training wheels…I mean, without Captain Chris at their side. Previously having owned outboards, this couple came to our Introduction to Boat Systems 2-day seminar to learn what to know before you go. Prior to purchase of their perfect boat, they asked Captain Chris to do a preview of this multi system cruising trawler. This preview helped to make a list of considerations prior to making an offer. One day on below deck systems review and a few days aboard for hands-on training in close quarters maneuvering and they were ready to shove off for great adventures and making memories.
If you’d like to start developing a knowledge base to find your perfect cruising boat….Ask Captain Chris. Join us for a seminar, watch our training videos or give us a call 772-205-1859. And then let us know how your adventure proceeds aboard your own perfect boat!
