Bob and Mary just bought their first boat, a Nordic Tug 42. Hard to imagine 42 feet for a first boat but when they realized they needed training they called Captain Chris to help! This well equipped cruising boat is perfect for the Great Loop with a folding RADAR mast and single engine economy. The Cummins 6 cylinder turbo charged diesel is easy to operate and the boat has additional bow and stern thrusters making docking simple. With a little bit of instruction from Captain Chris this couple was well on their way!
Terrific options for helm stations too: the pilot house is great in foul weather, rain, cold wind or beastly hot days and the fly bridge is fantastic for great weather cruising.
Captain Chris worked with Bob and Mary relocating their newly purchased boat from Fort Pierce, FL to North Palm Beach, FL. The weather was typical for Florida in the winter, a little of this, a little of that. This day allowed us to try both steering stations- the flybridge was great for casting off from the dock and the pilot house helm was appreciated during the rainy mid day. We ran the generator and air conditioner to keep the pilot house a comfortable temperature. Not always necessary but good to shake down all systems while Captain Chris is aboard.
After they get the boat settled and equipped with galley and stateroom furnishings Captain Chris will return to complete their training helping them transition into their new tug.
