Owners of a Nordhavn 46 send a catch up note to Captain Chris….
Dear Chris, we are sitting at anchor in Bull Creek, near Hilton head, enjoying the abundant wildlife, polishing some chrome, catching up a little.
As you can tell from our position we’ve opened a bridge or two, negotiated hell gate and little mud river – and have yet to run aground.
We’ve run out of water after laundry day, and reorganized our water management; figured out the permanent list of the boat (endemic to all Nordhavn 46s) and are managing it with Fuel; And have fine-tuned our power management.
We’ve had a sleepless night or two at anchor in bad conditions – probably not our last – but are working on better weather and tide planning.
We are so grateful to you for the tools you’ve given us to make this all possible. We so enjoyed your company aboard, but sharing your wisdom and experience was, of course, the best!
We have sung your praises to people we’ve met, and will continue to do so – especially to new boaters.
Our greetings to both you and Alyse. We look forward to seeing you again, perhaps at an upcoming boat show. J and C
PS when approaching a dock, I have learned to set a breast line on each side. Then we’re ready for surprises.
