Sometimes a meal works and sometimes it doesn’t. When you are cooking aboard in your cozy galley get creative and be ready to step out of your comfort zone. First, purchase only what you’ll enjoy. Not what you think you should eat on a boat. Then plan your future meals around what you can use from the leftovers. Not just reheat them.
Aboard our Motor Cruiser Sandy Hook we often name our leftovers. Boy Scout Surprise and Scavangers Delight. Keep your sense of humor. With the right attitude everything tastes better on a boat. Most of your friends are so amazed you can produce anything out of such a tiny galley that you don’t really have to try so hard.
Don’t waste a thing. My grandparents would be proud. Use wilted fruits and vegetables for soup or as a bed of seasoning. Heck we even save the crab legs from the steamed blue claws to season a soup made from- what else? LEFTOVERS!
