TrawlerFest University Anacortes Class of May 2013. We spent two full days of training aboard this Classic tri cabin Grand Banks. Spectacular!
Engine room review starts each day aboard our boat in University classes. First the blue crew then with the gold crew. Lots to learn about below deck systems.
Taking turns behind the helm of a Grand Banks.
Class cut ups on the flybridge.
The Blue crew of Building Cruising Confidence as a Couple. The Gold Crew are working on the deck level learning how to handle lines, fenders as well as learning to make sense of the chart plotter and RADAR.
Grand Banks sitting pretty at the docks of TrawlerFest.
Although the surrounding sky looks ominous, we were lucky that the sun shone most days during the fest. The lovely town of Anacortes is quite charming both on land and from the waterway.
The view from a Nordhavn 55 pilothouse.
An American Tug enters the main channel at Cap Sante.
Captain Chris is wearing a float suit by First Watch, courtesy of Landfall Navigation. He demonstrated jumping in the frigid Pacific water wearing an Imperial Survival Suit. Stay tuned for the video!
The Aspen C-100 and C-90 PROA catamaran. We were asked to sea trial this fun cruising boat and write an article for PassageMaker Magazine. Stay tuned for published dates.
A view from the helm of the Aspen C-100.
We even saw a pilot house dinghy!
Curtis and Gill Stokes are all smiles after a lovely cruise aboard this DeFever 44. Thanks for a great afternoon on the waters of the Pacific Northwest.
