Easy Shortbread Squares
This witch has graced us with not one but TWO delicious recipes. Think it's magic???
Thanks to Jan from our Vero Beach Power Squadron for this terrific treat!

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
  • 2 sticks butter (soft but not room temp)
  • 1   12 oz. pkg. of semi sweet chocolate bits (or your chocolate pieces of choice)
  • dash of salt
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Combine flour, sugar, salt and butter until forms crumbs.  Press into a greased 9 X 13 pan.  Bake at 350 until just browned slightly about 20 minutes.  Remove from oven and sprinkle with choc. bits.  Return to oven and bake 5 mins. more. Remove from oven and spread choc. bits all over with a knife.   Sprinkle nuts over the top.  Cool slightly and then cut with a knife.  Cool in a pan before removing the squares.
